February Favourites
Hi everyone! Hope you
all had a really lovely February. For this post, I thought I would share a few
of my favourite things, both old and new, that have been keeping me going
through this cold and rainy month!
Firstly - although I really shouldn't have to include this as I'm not 'big
time' in the slightest - I want to confirm that I haven't been paid or asked to
advertise any of the things I recommend on this blog post. This is just my
personal opinion and why they work for me.
1. Estée Lauder: Idealist - Pore Minimising Skin Refinisher
I'm starting with this as it is
by far my most favourite product I've ever used. EVER. I cannot recommend it
enough - it's a miracle worker! I use it once a day on my T Zone and not only
has it transformed my skin, but it feels silky smooth and smells lovely. The
only downside (and it's minor) is that it's quite pricey at about £54 per
bottle (I buy it at the Swindon Outlet Beauty Store and it's about £45 there).
But if you're going to splash out on a premium product this is definitely the
one to go for:
2. Estée Lauder:
Modern Muse Fragrance
A second Estée Lauder product - I
know! But this is a new fragrance that I purchased this month and it smells so
good. It's quite a wintery scent but it's one of those perfumes that I can
still smell on me at the end of the day. A definite favourite for me!
3. Soap
and Glory: Supercat Eyeliner
I have used Rimmel eyeliner since I was
about 16 and have never deviated from the little bottle and brush situation.
This month, however, I decided to branch out and purchased the Soap & Glory
Supercat Eyeliner pen which is brilliant. It's so easy to apply and I find that
my 'flicks' are on point every time. It doesn't smudge, stays put all day and
takes me half the time to apply - I'm sold!
4. Colgate:
Max White One Optic Toothpaste
Some of you may be thinking that this is a
strange one to have in a 'favourites' blog, but I didn't want to stick entirely
to beauty and makeup because there are other things that have tickled my fancy
this month! And this toothpaste is definitely one of them. I'm really obsessed
with cleaning my teeth and enjoy a good toothpaste, but this is by far the best
one I've used in a long time. And it really does make your teeth whiter! The
only mildly irritating thing is that the little blue bits in the toothpaste
make your sink look very colourful!
5. Lenor:
Unstoppables Scent Boosters
Again, you may think this is a strange
one, but I absolutely love these things! Pop them in with your washing and it
will come out smelling so fresh. It also makes my entire flat smell like fresh
laundry which is lovely when I come home from work.
6. Lush: It's Raining Men Shower Gel
Bit
of an odd name for a shower gel, but it's the best Lush shower gel I've tried -
that honey smell is amazing! It smells so good I want to eat it, but it also
makes my skin feel really soft and I can smell it on me all day long which I
love.
7. Podcast: Serial
My final recommendation is the Podcast
called Serial. It's free to download and is really interesting. At the request
of the family, a journalist re-investigates a murder that happened in 1999 in
Baltimore and the podcasts follow her journey as she decides for herself
whether Adnan, who was convicted of the crime and is serving life in prison, is
innocent or guilty. For anyone who enjoyed Making a Murderer - this is equally
as good!
Thank you for reading! I enjoyed doing this one. I've had a manic month at work so apologies there isn't a vlog to accompany this, but I will be doing another one soon once I have a little more time on my hands!
Love, Alice x
